Weird Dream

I would love to take a class sometime that tells you why you dream weird stuff and how your mind can take two or three completely unrelated people or events and smash them together in your head while you sleep. Last night I dreamt that I was stage managing a benefit concert in Europe. We were flying to London, then making a connection to wherever we were going. There were cruise ships docked at the airport, so I decided to check them out during our layover. Well, I ended up jumping into the water (if you know me well, you know I would never do this) and swimming with giant sea turtles and some kind of prehistoric dolphins with feet. That is, until the pilot of my plane told me there were snakes in the water, so I got out. We eventually got to our hotel, which looked like a combo casino/Holiday Inn, where I was not allowed to drop off my stuff or select my suite until I went to rehearsal. When I walked into the room where we were rehearsing, I saw Betty White, Bea Arthur and Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez (of TLC) sitting on a wicker couch looking at sheet music. Our music director was there and they proceeded to rehearse a rousing rendition of "Waterfalls" that they were going to perform in the concert. Fortunately, God had mercy on me about halfway through the second verse and I woke up.

I think the moral of this story is that I should stop watching nature shows right before bed and I should put a couple of seasons of The Golden Girls on my Netflix list.

Notes about this dream:

Lisa Left-Eye Lopez is dead, so she came to you in your dream to tell you something. Perhaps listening to "Aint Too Proud To Beg" will uncover something for you.

The song of choice was "Waterfalls". You jumped into the water and swam with dolphins and sea turtles. You were in London. Perhaps this dream was prophetic. Last year a whale ended up in the Thames. (Probably the water you jumped into in the dream). It eventually died. Maybe you were saving it. There is now a whale swimming in the river in Gowanus Brooklyn. Maybe the spirit of the dead London whale came to you to get you to save the one in Brooklyn.

Bea Arthur and Betty WHite were just there for kicks. They have to take any gig they can get. When their agents called them and sais they would be starring in a dream, they were right on that.
